Pollan wages war against “food-like” products that crowd our supermarket shelves. Pollan warns against the food marketers who develop faux food like Twinkies! Pollan’s message is: EAT FOOD. NOT TOO MUCH. MOSTLY PLANTS. This is harder than it sounds given all the processed food in the Western diet. Currently, IN DEFENSE OF FOOD is Number One on the New York Times Non-Fiction Best Sellers List. Deservedly so.
